
NDT Technician

Description
Due to our rapid growth, we are currently seeking both Junior and Intermediate full time Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technicians who are career minded with a high level of professionalism to conduct inspections throughout Canada. As an NDT Technician, you will provide exceptional customer service, maintain a flexible work schedule, and use independent judgment and reasoning.Requirements
Responsibilities:• Preparing inspection tools and supporting equipment for transportation to the job site.
• Assisting customers and field personnel in the preparation, set up, mechanical refurbishment, cleaning, and maintaining paperwork connected with each project.
• Progress rapidly in order to advance to levels requiring increased knowledge of the basic tool functions.
• Work onsite at either at a refinery or a tank farm –inspection work is to be done 80% of the time inside an above ground storage tank.
• Tank Bottom Inspection – Utilizing MFL
• Corner Weld Inspection – Requires weld preparation and PT or MT
• Bottom Weld Inspection
• Ultrasonic – Internal and External
• API 653 – Internal and External
Qualifications or Skills Required:
• Prior NDT experience and CGSB certification is required
• Candidate must currently reside in western Canada and willing to be based out of Calgary, Alberta with extended periods of travel > 60-70%, across Canada and possibly USA
• Willing to spend 80% of onsite time inside confined spaces (storage tank)
• Valid Canadian Passport with ability to travel/work/train internationally
• Clean driving record
• Valid TWIC card (is an asset
• Advanced Computer Literacy - MS word, excel etc.
• Excellent organizational skills
• Bilingual English/Spanish is an asset
• API 653 Certification – Internal and External tank bottom evaluation/laser profiling is an asset
• Able to follow established HSE procedures and OSHA/DOT regulations
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to work on hands and knees and crawl into tight spaces (kneeling/squatting up to 5-20 minutes up to 20 times per hour)
• Must be able to work in environment with extreme heat or cold temperatures
• Ability to work in limited lighting
• Potential to work in elevated heights
• Must be able to lift up to 280 lbs. with the assistance of another person from a start height of 6-9 inches to an end height of 36-49 inches from the floor up to 1 time per hour
• Must be able to lift up to 280 lbs. with assistance of another person from a start height of 30 inches from the floor and carry a distance of 10 feet up to 1 time per hour
• Must be able to push/pull with a fore up to 30 lbs. a distance of 10 feet up to 1 time per hour
• Must be able to push/pull with a force up to 102 lbs. up to 1 time per hour
