Description
ROSEN Canada is seeking to employ a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician who is career minded with a high level of professionalism to conduct inspections throughout Canada. This position requires individuals to provide exceptional customer service along with preparation and mechanical refurbishment of Plant and Terminals inspection tools, shipment of equipment, and maintain assigned company equipment for serviceability.Responsibilities:
• The NDT Technician will be responsible for preparing inspection tools and supporting equipment for transportation to the job site.
• This person will be assisting customers and field personnel in the preparation, set up, mechanical refurbishment, cleaning, and maintaining paperwork connected with each project.
• Ideal individual will be prepared to progress rapidly in order to advance to levels requiring more knowledge of the basic tool functions.
• The onsite description will be either at a refinery or a tank farm. Inspection work is to be done 80% of the time inside an above ground storage tank.
• Provide non-destructive testing on aboveground storage tanks, pressure vessels and piping components.
• Tank Bottom Inspection - Utilizing MFL.
• Corner Weld Inspection – Requires weld preparation and PT or MT.
• Bottom Weld Inspection – Vacuum Box and or Visual.
• Ultrasonic – Internal and External.
• Performs Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant, and NDT Industrial Inspections on piping and pressure vessels.
Requirements
Qualifications or Skills Required:• Minimum of 2 years of NDT pipeline working experience;
• Technical Discipline certificate in the NDT field coupled with equivalent work experience;
• NDE Certifications (CGSB UT, CGS MT) with experience is preferred; CGSB NDT Level1 is required;
• Ability to travel for extended periods of time – up to 70%;
• Maintain a valid Passport;
• Maintain a clean driving record;
• Willing to spend 80% of onsite time inside confined spaces (storage tank);
• Computer Literacy - existing knowledge of MS word & excel;
• Excellent organizational skills;
• Tank Bottom Inspection – Utilizing MFL;
• Corner Weld Inspection – Requires weld preparation and PT or MT;
• Bottom Weld Inspection – Vacuum Box and or Visual;
• UT Level1
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:
• Must be able to work on hands and knees and crawl into tight spaces (kneeling/squatting up to 5-20 minutes up to 20 plus times per hour);
• Must be able to work in environment with extreme heat or cold temperatures;
• Ability to work in limited lighting;
• Potential to work in elevated heights;
• Must be able to lift up to 280 pounds (127 kg) with the assistance of another person from a start height of 6 - 9 inches to an end height of 36-49 inches (91 – 124.5 cm) as needed;
• Must be able to lift up to 280 pounds (127 kg) with assistance of another person from a start height of 30 inches (76 cm) from the floor and carry a distance of 10 feet (3 meters) as needed;
• Must be able to push/pull with a force up to 30 lbs. (13.5 kg) a distance of 10 feet (3 meters) as needed;
• Must be able to push/pull with a force up to 102 lbs. (46 kg) as needed.
