Software Engineer

Due to our continued growth, we require a Software Engineer to join our Systems Implementation Department and collaborate with our engineering teams to configure, customise and implement our bespoke engineering software into the existing systems of our clients.

The role will involve working with and providing client feedback to the development team and elements of programming and installation. Providing training to the end user, and defining individual customer workflows and required documentation will also be required.

Although based in our UK office in Newcastle Upon Tyne, the role will have strong links to our Systems Implementations Department in Lingen, Germany, which will involve travel there, and also to client locations, so applicants be willing and able to travel nationally and internationally if / when required.


Skills Required:

• Working knowledge of and experience in working with a variety of software including SQL, Arc GIS and FME.
• Proven Python Scripting skills.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent in qualifications such as IT Systems Engineering.
• Excellent communication skills and adaptability.
• Experience in working directly and closely with clients on significant software projects.
• Ability to identify requirements and then create standard reports, templates and workflows customised to the needs of the clients.
• Proven knowledge of various types of software interfacing.

Skills Preferred:

• Good understanding of the pipeline integrity business.
• Experience of training and client workshops.
• Although a high level of spoken and written English is a prerequisite for this role, the ability to speak other languages, particularly German and / or Spanish, would be beneficial.
