Due to our rapid growth, we are currently looking for a full time permanent Shop Operations Coordinator (Maintenance Supervisor). In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service, maintain a flexible work schedule, and use independent judgment and reasoning.


Detailed duties include:
• Coordinate and distribute work and tasks for Maintenance Staff based on work orders;
• Provide support and training to all levels of Maintenance Staff;
• Maintain efficiency and productivity in all aspects of the Maintenance Shop;
• Scheduling of daily and weekly workload and activities;
• Facilitate weekly tool box meetings;
• Lead the processes for Mechanical and Electronic Assembly as required;
• Collaborate with Tool Lead in terms of work order due dates and status and risks relating to the delivery of the due date(s);
• Drive 5S Program and Procedures for the Maintenance Department and ensure the Shop is kept clean, organized as per 5S.
• Follow, and ensure staff follow, all QHSE regulations and legislation to ensure department compliance, maintain a safe work environment for staff at all times;
• Participate in the maintenance of safety records, inspections and MSDS;
• Responsible for employee performance reviews, annual goal setting, and participation in recruitment process.

Qualifications or Skills Required:
The successful candidate should have the minimum qualifications and/or skills:
• Mechanical or Millwright Journeyman certification or minimum of 5 years equivalent work experience in a related field is required. A minimum high school education or GED is required;
• Minimum of 2+ years of related lead, supervisory, or management experience within a Maintenance/Mechanic shop environment is required;
• Proven ability to supervise, mentor, train and develop a team of approximately 15+ employees;
• Experience with delegating and leading processes to completion;
• Hold a Class 5 driver’s license (class 5-GDL not acceptable);
• Have a clean drivers abstract, and ability to pass required pre-employment tests (Fitness for Duty, Drug & Alcohol, Criminal background check etc.);
• Advanced computer skills – familiarity working with network directory structures and ability to learn new software applications easily;
• Advanced interpersonal communication and strong English language skills (written and verbal). German language skills are an asset;
• Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment;
• Advanced troubleshooting skills;
• Strong attention to detail;
• Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and easily;
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and superior time management of self and others, is required;
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing demands, situations, and meet tight deadlines;
• Ability to travel infrequently (domestic and international) and hold a valid Canadian passport;
• Strong ability to resolve technical problems in a timely manner;
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required;
• High level customer service skills (internal and external);
• Highly motivated to contribute to the betterment of the maintenance team and attain department goals and objectives.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:
• Shop floor working environment where the employee is required to walk / stand throughout warehouse/shop/stock yard areas most of the day;
• Heavy lifting is required.  Lift and/or move greater than 50 pounds alone and/or lift greater than 180 lbs. with help of others;
• Ability to withstand noise as individuals are working in a loud environment and may need to wear ear protection;
• Due to the equipment and tools located in the maintenance department, pacemakers are not allowed.
