DescriptionOur ROSEN(UK) office in Newcastle Upon Tyne requires a Resource Lead in our Engineering Services Group to manage the increasing variety of projects, clients and resources in this rapidly growing area of the business. Projects undertaken include all those within the ROSEN UK Test Facility, UK and international site locations and desk based studies in conjunction with our multi-disciplined engineering team. The role has overall responsibility for the assignment of resources and will involve daily management of engineers and technicians within the group.
The main roles and responsibilities are as follows:
Manage effective group daily operations, providing first level support to management
Planning, forecasting and management of immediate and future resourcing needs
Support management in all resource related and line management issues including recruitment, succession planning, training and performance reviews
Assigning resources based on competence to project tasks which meet client needs and are aligned with the business strategy.
Collaborating with project teams and management to ensure that exposure to technical and commercial risks is limited
Implementing customer feedback and supporting internal lessons learned meetings
Monitoring and tracking project performance and presenting monthly reports
Support development and maintenance of group Business Plan
Actively support Business Development activities
Support finance department with budget monitoring, invoicing and project status
RequirementsExperience in managing technical experts, engineering and support staff
Ability to work closely and effectively with both internal and external clients
Excellent organisation and Project Management skills
Normally a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in an operational environment. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with engineering businesses, especially in integrity management, testing or field services
Excellent communicator with a track record of proactively managing teams and clients.
Excellent data handling skills and analytical ability
Ability to prioritise and execute significant volume and variety of tasks and process through complex international management structures
Diligent and excellent attention to detail
Previous line management activities and training / mentoring duties
Experience in commercial activities including proposal development, budgets and Business Development
