Subsequently, there has been a significant increase in customer demand for tethered solutions for the inspection of challenging assets. In order to secure operational growth, KTN AS is now looking to hire new personnel. 

Data Analyst (all genders welcome) -KTN- (Ultrasonic Wall Thickness & Crack Detection)

KTN AS, located in Bergen, Norway, is a technology company specialized in tethered inspection of oil and gas pipelines. Inspections are performed on- and offshore in an international market. In 2017 KTN AS and the ROSEN Group – the leading privately owned company providing pipeline inspection solutions –   joined forces in order to offer the oil and gas industry comprehensive service solutions for the inspection of challenging assets. The partnership has been a great success so far and due to operational growth we are currently seeking for qualified full time Data Analysts to join our Team. 

Data Analysts will provide an exceptional customer service receiving tethered inspection data, checking for quality and quantity using proprietary software in accordance with company procedures and specifications, process and analyze tethered inspection data with emphasis on optimizing parameters for accuracy and efficiency and creating Final Inspection Reports. Related information will be used by the Customer make the best use of their valuable assets in terms of safety & compliance, lifetime and performance.

Your responsibilities
  • Review and check of onsite reports for data quality
  • Preparation of all project relevant information like e.g. historical inspection data
  • Data preparation and processing; compile line information
  • Inspection data correlation; Distance adaptation between different measurement systems/ inspections
  • Tethered inspection data assessment
  • Data Analysis (standard & non-standard)
  • Feature categorization, evaluation and sizing
  • Application of anomaly interaction rules
  • Summary of all analysis data and information
  • Preparation of Final Inspection Reports
  • Report findings to Customer (together with Project Manager)
  • Incorporation of changes in the report after feedback collection
  • Maintain personal skills/certifications, and complete additional training as required
  • Additional related duties as assigned


To be part of the KTN Team, you should bring with you:
  • A degree in an engineering or technical discipline or equivalent work experience in a related area is preferred
  • Previous Pipeline Inspection Data Analysis experience or any other kind of technical Data Analysis is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to work well within a team
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and learn easily
  • Satisfactory completion of the required training and experience as required by ANSI/ASNT ILI-PQ-2017 per applicable technology (training provided in-house)
  • Superior troubleshooting skills - determine causes of operating errors and make sound decisions about next actions - ability to solve problems & look for improvements
  • Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal) are required – ability to receive and communicate technical information accurately and timely
  • Strong computer and software skills
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to pass a color blindness test
  • Ability and flexibility to travel on an infrequent basis for work and/or training
  • Highly motivated to contribute to the evaluation department team goals and able to work independently
  • Ability to work flexible hours with the potential of overtime (evening/weekend) based on business needs
  • Willingness to re-locate to Bergen, Norway
